Why can't I login to MYLINC or my library account?
Attention : New incoming students , you will be considered a student of NUS only when you officially matriculate (pre-matriculation isn't sufficient). Upon official matriculation, it will take a few working days for the library record to be ported over. New staff records may also take a few days to be activated.
Having problems getting into MyLINC (your loan account)?
1. Ensure that you enter your Matriculation or Staff number not your NUSNET ID (or email ID)
Your membership number, staff number or matriculation number is the alphanumeric characters as they appear on your membership, staff or matriculation cards.
This is not the same as your NUSNET ID (which you use to access your email, IVLE, electronic resources)
Some examples of staff, matriculation and membership numbers.
Undergraduate: U081234B or A0077111X (AY2010/2011 onwards )
Postgraduate: HT096460U or A0077111X (AY2010/2011 onwards )
External member: LP01234z
In the example above, you should enter U083714D as your matriculation number. Remember to include the letter at the end if there is one. If your card has a replacement card number right at the end (e.g. 1, 2 or 3), please exclude it.
2. Ensure you have entered your Library PIN
Please note that your Library PIN is not the same as your NUSNET password (which you use to access IVLE and NUS Mail).
By default, your LIBRARY PIN (Personal Identification Number) is your student SMARTCARD PIN issued by the NUS Computer Centre.
If you don't know or remember your SMARTCARD PIN, you can use the Retrieval of Smartcard PIN service which will email your PIN to your NUS email address (please use Internet Explorer 7/8 or Firefox for this service). Note : This is a service by the NUS Computer Centre and only works if you have not changed your default PIN before.
If this doesn't work, please approach library staff at the loans desk for a reset.
Please note that for Staff this is not the same as your Smartcard pin.
By default, your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is your staff number or your NRIC or FIN Number without letters. You are advised to change it to a ANY combination of numbers up to a maximum of 8 numbers. If you have forgotten your PIN and the default PIN doesn't work, please approach library staff at the loans desk for a reset.
External members/Term card holders
By default, your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is your Singaporean NRIC no., FIN or your passport number without alphabet/s. If you have forgotten your PIN and the default PIN doesn't work, please approach library staff at the loans desk for a reset.
If you are sure you have the correct PIN and still cannot access the system, please ensure you have entered the correct matric/staff/membership number. Enter all alphanumeric characters as they appear on your membership, staff or matriculation cards .
Trouble Shooting for library loan account (mylinc)
If you are unable to login to library loan account (mylinc),
1.If you are a new staff or student who recently joined us, your profile might not be setup yet. You can wait a few days or contact us with details of your problem and we will assist you. Depending on the profile, you might already be able to access eresources immediately.
2. You are using Internet Explorer 7/8/9, Firefox, Chome or Safari . All other browsers are currently not officially supported and may have issues.
3. You are entering your staff number or matriculation number and Not your NUSNET ID.
4. You have entered your Library Pin correctly. If you have forgotten or do not know your Library pin please see above.
