Does FindMore@NUSL cover 100% of a specific database (e.g. JSTOR, PubMed, Scopus) ?
FindMore@NUSL doesn't index (or include material) by database level per se but directly indexes by publication level (e.g Journal titles, Newspapers titles). Here's how to check how much of a certain journal or newspaper is indexed or covered in FindMore. The publication data can come from various sources e.g directly from publishers, aggregators etc.
As such it is difficult to confirm if 100% of the content in a database (e.g. Scopus, Business Source Premier) is covered in FindMore@NUSL. Overlap in content maybe 100% or it could be much less. Here is a content analysis of important full-text databases.
There is also no way to directly restrict a search to show content by databases.
Do note that even if FindMore@NUSL does cover close to 100% of a database, you may still want to use the database because
- Greater subject focus, FindMore@NUSL may surface less relevant results due to the greater number of results
- Advanced searching features (e.g search history, advanced search filters), FindMore@NUSL provides the lowest common denominator set of features as it aggregates data from thousands of sources.
