The best way to check if NUS Libraries has an item is to do a search using LINC

Newspapers & magazines

Hard copies

Daily copies of Straits Times, Business Times, Lianhe Zaobao and Berita Harian are generally available in the library. For example you can find copies at Central Library Perk Point (Level 4).

You can borrow the following newspapers (up to 3 months prior to date) at Central Library Loans Desk: Straits Times, Business Times, Lianhe Zaobao, Lianhe Wanbao, Berita Harian, Tamil Murasu, Today, The New Paper, Xin Ming. Fiction or General reading

NUS Libraries is an academic library and in general does not carry many fiction titles as compared to the Public Libraries.  You can do a search using LINC to see if the title you are looking for is available.

Alternatively do the following search in FindMore@NUSL, the default library search.

SubjectTerms:"fiction" Keyword, then restrict to content type Books/eBooks.  Replace keyword with whatever you are interested.

Here's an example where I have added the additional term Game of thrones to the search and restricted to specific library locations.

You can also browse the central library main shelves under call numbers PR and PS for English Literature and American Literature respectively. Fiction by Singapore writers is classified under PL5149 , copies can be found in many locations including the Central Library Open Shelves at Level 3 and Singapore-Malaysia Collection at Central Library, Level 5.

There are also two General Reading sections currently at the Medical Library and Science Library.
