Medical Library Discussion Room 3 is open to current NUS Staff/Students for walk-in discussions as long as the Library is open. The room is closed one hour before the library closes. Any requests for booking is subject to approval on a case-by-case basis through written request.

  • Written requests must be sent in advance to using NUS email with requestor’s name, NUSNET staff/student ID number, stating purpose/reason/type of organisation, event, number of persons, etc. and duration of booking.  It will take at least 2 working days to process. 

  • Booking is considered if the group size is 20 and above and the entire group consists of current NUS staff/students ONLY.

  • Each organisation/society/association/student body, etc. is allowed not more than 2 bookings per month during term time ensure that students are not deprived of seats for learning.

  • Any booking should end 2 hours before Library closing time.

  • No booking is allowed during Reading Week/Exam periods/when the Library is closed.

  • The room should be used for plain group discussions only.

  • Each booking is for 2 hours only. Users MUST leave room immediately, once booking period has lapsed.

  • Info Desk Officer will void a booking and reopen Discussion Room 3 if the requestor failed to turn up within 30 min.

  • No smoking, eating or drinking and food catering is allowed.

  • Use of Audio appliances is strictly prohibited.

  • Users may not leave any belongings or un-borrowed library books in the room. The library is NOT responsible for the loss of such items.

  • After use, the room/furniture/equipment must return to its original position and in good condition.

  • Library staff reserves the right to access the room at ALL times, to conduct spot checks and/or for maintenance and repairs, etc.

  • Library staff reserves the right to withdraw the facilities from users due to emergency or unforeseen circumstances and/or impose fines due to misuse.

  • Library also reserves the right to modify or change these terms, conditions and policies without prior notice.
