Q. I am a lecturer. What materials can I place in Canvas?

Materials that can be placed in Canvas:-

• e-versions of readings available on an NUS Libraries subscribed database - we will make a direct link to your readings on the Canvas page;   
• print readings that are available in our NUS Libraries collection - the print copies will be transferred to RBR, if they are found elsewhere.  We try to buy the e-copy.  However, if the e-copy is not available, the students will have fall back on the RBR copies;
• hyperlinks to videos/music from library subscribed databases (i.e. Digital Theatre Plus Database) or from legal to use resources free from copyright restrictions; or
• physical VHS or DVD films may only be streamed with written permission from the copyright owner. Please approach the NUS Libraries Canvas Course Readings Team for further assistance on this matter.

Materials that will not be placed in Canvas:-

• materials where the publisher explicitly prohibits linking (unless licensed directly from them). For example:-

  • Harvard Business Cases from Harvard Business Review (“HBR”)
  • Richard Ivey cases, and/or
  • Stanford cases     

• materials obtained through the Document Delivery System ("DDS")
